Big Ideas
YEAR 1: INTRODUCTION TO SHARED SPACE
- The State of Israel is the shared space of the Jewish people and simultaneously shares space with multiple peoples.
- We are a part of the Jewish People, so Israel is also our shared space.
YEAR 2: MULTIPLE NARRATIVES THROUGH MAPS
- Maps are subjective, interpretive documents through which individuals express their perspectives and beliefs in the context of the time and place in which they live.
- The map of Israel can be simultaneously historical, political, religious and geographic in showing how space is shared.
